Romans 7:14-15, 18-19, 21 ERV)
We know that the law is spiritual, but I am not. I am so human. Sin rules me as if I were its slave. I don’t understand why I act the way I do. I don’t do the good I want to do, and I do the evil I hate.
I don't know about you all but I can understand Paul on this one! Crazy loves to show up even though I know what the word says. We can know the Word but it takes a discipline to do it. Paul being the Bible scholar, a teacher of the law, the writer of most of the new testament had a hard time walking in what the Word says. He said it so right when he said that he was a slave to sin.
Slave is person who is strongly influenced and controlled by something. We seem to be controlled by the crazy or the sin in our lives to the point that it controls or influences us strongly in the moments we aren't in the "spirit" or in the church. At least we can pretend that we aren't controlled by crazy while we are around other church folks. When crazy has influence it overshadows the influence of the Holy Spirit. As the Holy Spirit whispers crazy screams loud!
How many times have we known the right thing to do, but we chose to do the crazy thing. Let me tell you why I call the sin we do crazy. Crazy means not suitable for the situation not in good judgment. It's poor judgment to allow crazy to keep showing up when we should be past that stage. We allow crazy to influence us to the point that it overthrows God's voice. I'm not saying I got all my crazy dead, but I aim to chop it's head off every chance I get.
